Winter Storm Preparedness

As winter approaches, homeowners are busy preparing for that first bout of bad weather. From digging out hats and mittens that have long since been forgotten to making sure the snow blower is ready to go, preparing for the cold temperatures and messy weather doesn’t have to be a huge undertaking. In fact, according to the experts at Generac, you can simplify the process significantly by adding the following 10 items to your list.

-Install weather stripping.
-Have your furnace/heating system serviced at the beginning of each season, and have the filters changed.
-Move furniture away from vents.
-Stock up on rock salt and sand to help melt ice that may accumulate on walkways.
-Install roof-heating cables to prevent ice dams.
